Jelly...Fish?

This was the hardest thing I've ever had to record in my life. Mainly becauase I couldn't stop laughing. Thanks to Stella, Jake & Jane for making it happen.

What I've been doing...

...for the past few days- I didn't do this craft project myself, but it was fun to experience.

A more complete snowglobe

Having spent about 9 hours in the snow globe today, I am now one with snow. Call me Mr. Freeze...

It starts...

This is the week for the Snow Globe... We hung the flakes today- they look better than these pictures can capture. It was like setting up for a prom. Tomorrow the Snow Globe Comes...

NY1 Day

I did the parenting report for NY1 today. I had to stand in the middle of the studio with a wizard hat on, makeshift cape, and a bearded dragon. I'll post the video when I get it... or maybe not.

Fall at the Queens Zoo

I'm lucky. When I have a really stressful day, I can walk over to the Queens Zoo and talk to the animals. They were really lonely today (I was the only person in the entire zoo for an hour).

This bear was so bored.

Cursive Writing

I go to a lot of meetings, where many passionate scientists talk, and talk, and talk, and talk.

Cursive writing to the rescue. I love to practice my cursive writing. Cursive writing was the only class I ever got a "C" in during elementary school, so I hated it, but now I find that it helps to kill time during meetings- and it looks like you're being attentive and taking great notes.

Glow Rex

I'd been looking at this set of LED building blocks at the Hall Gift shop for the past three weeks. It was time to get them. Who doesn't need a light-up TRex? He was really hard to build- I don't know how they expect 8 year olds to make him.

Fun with photos

Josh and I had fun taking some narrative shots...

when she comes back from the bathroom, it's either my place or hers...

Balloon Day

This is me standing in a giant hot air balloon... at a Catholic School in Long Island.

A hot air balloon can hold about 6000 pounds of air, and about 200 kids inside...

This is the gondola and propane tanks that support the hot air balloon. When turned on in front of a Catholic School it creates a miracle...

Giant things on my mind

I have a strange job.

The other morning, I had a nightmare that I couldn't get a 5 foot Snowflake in NYC for the GIANT 12 foot snow globe.

I'm worried about where 300 Girl Scouts are going to sleep when there's a giant DNA strand in the middle of the museum.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 6:30 in the morning and see a GIANT balloon be inflated on its side.

and then there's the GIANT bubble show...

Cosmojetz

Quick sketch of Cosmojetz from kikkerland.com.

Extremes Gala Performance

I was honored that the Extremes were invited to be at the Gala this year- even if they had to perform in a hallway...nothing like a microbe musical to set the mood right for a party!

We had to decorate pumpkins without carving them.
