Why is My Cat so Angry? Illustration Friday-
Can anyone tell me why Hank is angry in every picture I take of him. Maybe he feels that he's not very photogenic. I did this with ink and watercolor off of a picture I took of him. I found this cool website www.illustrationfriday.com- and they give you themes every Friday to illustrate- this week happened to be cats. I've never drawn Hank for a CosCreative project- so I thought it was time. I just wished he had smiled.

Dear Mr. Owner,
I am very thankful that you rescued me from a life in the pound. I was known as the "girl" there, if you know what I mean. However, I do not appreciate you and Ms. Owner leaving me for days on end without anyone to play with! Oh, sure, your two friends drop by and put food in my dish, but they don't "know" me so it's no fun! I also don't appreciate being picked up at will and tossed around like a rag doll, having my belly jiggled, and, for God's sake, when I lick myself, please don't take a freaking picture! Sure, I could smile when you take a picture, but I believe that would belie the fact that I'm plotting my revenge...meow meow.

Or maybe he's not really angry, maybe he just looks angry. Ellen Degeneres talks about how her mouth is shaped in such a way so that even when she's not sad, if her mouth is merely relaxed, it looks sad-- the edges just naturally turn down even when she's not trying to frown.
Likewise with Evangeline Lilly- she has distressed eyes. Even when she's just relaxed, her eyebrows and eyes convey distress.
Maybe your cat just has an angry mouth and eyes, but is really quite content. =)

Dear Hank,
I don't like when Daddy takes photos of me, either. They all come out ugly, and then he puts them in albums for all of posterity to see. Remember the heinous one of me lighting the Menorah on Chanukah? (You looked good in that one, by the way.) I looked vile.
I will have a talk with your dad and tell him to slow down with the newfangled digital if you promise to smile once in a while so that we can show our friends how handsome you are.

Interesting... I thought it was just me...
Because I know, personally, that Hank is mad at me for borrowing and then losing his "Cop Rock: The Complete Series" DVD set.
Have you taken something of his and not given it back?
