Durga


This is a ink and watercolor illustration of the Hindi Goddess, Durga. Durga manifested when evil forces threatened the very existence of the Gods. To destroy these demons, all gods offered their radiance to her creating and formed part of Durga's body. The name Durga in Sanskrit means INVINCIBLE. Durga is normally seated on a tiger. I liked placing her on a swan.
